- the proposal made by Hon. S.B. Dissanayake, Minister of Higher Education, to construct an eight storied Academic Building at a total cost of Rs.1610 Million with funds to be provided by the Government and complete the construction work within a period of 3 years from 2014, with view catering to the increased national demand for medical specialist training and to improve the quality of medical services in Sri Lanka, was approved by the Cabinet.
