- in keeping with the vision and strategic directions of the Skills Sector Development Programme (2014 - 2020), several measures have been taken by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development and the Institutions under its purview, with the objective of expanding the supply of skilled manpower to meet the industrial demand. Accordingly, it has been scheduled to construct 04 new Vocational Training Centres for the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka in Kuchchaweli, Horana, Ahangama and Ratmalana. The proposal made by Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma, Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development, to proceed with the related activities, was approved by the Cabinet.
