- the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sreemath Anagarika Dharmapala falls on the 17th September 2014 and the Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs, the most Venerable Mahanayaka Theros and various religious and other organizations are making a joint effort to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sreemath Anagarika Dharmapala. The proposal made by Hon. W.D.J. Seneviratne, Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs, to declare 17th of September 2014 as the 'Sreemath Anagarika Dharmapala Day', was approved by the Cabinet.
