The Eleventh Session of the Compliance Committee, the Eleventh Session of the Standing Committee on Finance and Administration and the Eighteenth Session of the Commission of Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC), from 26th May to 5th June, 2014 - the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) is an intergovernmental organization mandated to manage Tuna and Tuna like species in the Indian Ocean and adjacent seas in which Sri Lanka is a member state. The objective of the Commission is to promote cooperation among its members and to encourage sustainable development of the fisheries sector. The proposal made by Hon. Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, to proceed with the activities relating to the hosting of the above Conference, was approved by the Cabinet. |
