- the special ward for Bhikkus which has been functioning at the Teaching Hospital, Anuradhapura, to provide health care services to the Bhikkus residing in Buddhist Temples situated in and around Anuradhapura town area was in a dilapidated condition. The proposal made by Hon. Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Health, to award the construction work of Stage I of a new Bhikku Ward Complex at the Teaching Hospital, Anuradhapura, consisting of the ground floor and the first floor, to the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) which is a Government concern, at an estimated cost of Rs.59,787,498.85, was approved by the Cabinet.
