- Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Water Supply and Drainage, brought to the notice of the Cabinet the current position of Major Water Treatment Plants in the country due to the prevailing drought situation, and stated that water levels at the intakes at rivers and reservoirs are receding due to which water supply will have to be curtailed in the near future if the drought prevails.
