A Credit of United States Dollars 110 million from the International Development Association (IDA) of World Bank for the Comprehensive Programme for Improving Climate Resilience

- Sri Lanka is a country with great exposure to risks of multi hazards and as such the Government has taken significant steps towards strengthening the legislative and institutional arrangements for disaster risk management while investing to a great extent on emergency preparedness and response capacity, as priority is given for climate change in the country’s development agenda. The International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank has agreed to provide a credit of US $110 million for improving the Climate Resilience Programme. The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance and Planning, to proceed with the related activities, was approved by the Cabinet.
