- one of the major programmes implemented by the Ministry of Lands and Land Development is the Title Registration (Bimsaviya) Programme which is being implemented under the provisions of the above Act. The proposal made by Hon. Janaka Bandara Thennakoon, Minister of Lands and Land Development, to make certain amendments to the above Act on the recommendations made by a Special Committee appointed by H.E. the President, to identify the problems arisen in the implementation of the provisions of the above Act, and to instruct the Legal Draftsman to prepare amending legislation accordingly, for the benefit of the public, was approved by the Cabinet.
