- attention of the Cabinet was drawn to various news items appearing both in the print and electronic media to the effect that the Government intends to do away with the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination. It was noted that such decision has not been taken by the Cabinet. However, the Government contemplates to simplify the examination in view of the severe pressure caused to the students by the present system. Any decision to change the method of conducting the examination will be taken, based on the recommendations of the National Education Commission and in consultation with all other interested parties.
