- this Plan has been prepared for the period of 5 years from 2013 to 2017 conforming to the Disaster Management Act, No.13 of 2005 and the Sri Lanka National Disaster Management Policy. The objective of the Plan is to establish and strengthen the Disaster Risk Management Framework outlined in the Act and to implement related programmes involving multi-stakeholder participation covering all phases of the Disaster Management Cycle. The proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Disaster Management, to implement the National Disaster Management Plan, was approved by the Cabinet.
