- a delegation from Sri Lanka led by Hon. Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Minister of National Languages and Social Integration, attended this Conference and the Minister apprised the Members of the Cabinet on the events that took place at the Conference and the representations made by the delegation. Cabinet observed that in South Africa, Primary Education is provided free of charge, but not Secondary Education which is provided free of charge only for children from families of low income groups. The Minister also stated that the delegates at the Conference were impressed about our system of education that facilitates a child to receive education from the lowest level to the highest in all three languages and that, too, free of charge.
