Direct supply of Generic Pharmaceuticals Manufactured by State Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Corporation (SPMC) to Medical Supplies Division (MSD)

- the State Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Corporation (SPMC) was established with the commitment to manufacture quality essential drugs at affordable prices. With the view to elevating the drug manufacturing industry to a higher level by effective usage of existing resources, the proposal made by Hon. Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Health, for the SPMC to supply the undermentioned drugs (04 items) to the Medical Supplies Division as their annual requirement, on pre-agreed prices with immediate effect, without following the competitive bidding process, was approved by the Cabinet, in addition to 26 generic pharmaceuticals already approved:

* Amoxicillin Capsules BP 500mg
* Cloxacillin Capsules BP 500mg
* Gliclazide Tablets BP 80mg
* Spironolactone Tablets USP 25mg
