Investment Projects offered for CHOGM Business Forum in Sri Lanka - in conjunction with the Commonwealth Heads of Governments' Meeting scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka from 15th to 17th November, 2013, the Commonwealth Business Council (CBC) in collaboration with the Government of Sri Lanka, has organized the Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF). The CBF is to be held between 12th and 14th November, 2013 at the Hotel Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. The key objective of the CBF is to attract foreign direct investments to Sri Lanka through potential investors from Commonwealth countries by making them aware of the vast investment opportunities available in Sri Lanka in various sectors. The CBC jointly with the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka has identified investment opportunities which could be offered to potential foreign investors during the forthcoming CBF. Some of the sectors of such projects are as follows: * Higher Education and Training * Agriculture and Fisheries * Health * Information Technology * Manufacturing and Agro-processing * Infrastructure including Aviation. The proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Minister of Investment Promotion to proceed with the relevant activities, was approved by the Cabinet. |
