Northern Road Connectivity Project - Award of Four Contract Packages in Stage II

- The Government of Sri Lanka has obtained a loan of US $98 million from the Asian Development Bank towards the cost of rehabilitation and improvement of around 120 km of national highways under the Northern Road Connectivity Project and a part of the proceeds of this loan is to be utilized for the rehabilitation and improvement of the following roads:

* Medawachchiya-Mannar-Talaimannar Road A14) from 47.00 km to 62.10 km;
* Medawachchiya-Mannar-Talaimannar Road (A14) from 62.10 km to 76.50 km;
* Jaffna-Pannai-Kayts Road (AB19) from 0 to 10.00 km; and
* Jaffna-Pannai-Kayts Road (AB19) from 10.00 km to 20.275 km.


The above proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance and Planning, was approved by the Cabinet.
