Water Cooperation for Community Development - 2013

- the International Conference on this subject was held recently in Anuradhapura. Many distinguished dignitaries from countries in the South Asian Region such as India, Pakistan, Maldives and Bhutan and local representatives from 450 Community Based Water Supply Organizations had attended this Conference. Several workshops had been conducted in order to share the experiences of their knowledge and best practices prevalent in the region and to promote mutual understanding and cooperation among the communities managing their water supply schemes. The above information was furnished to the Cabinet by Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Water Supply and Drainage.
