Award of Contract for Construction of Head Works for Kaluganga Reservoir

- Kaluganga Reservoir is proposed to be constructed across Kaluganga at a location downstream of Pallegama town in the Laggala Electorate in Matale District. Joint funding for the Kaluganga Reservoir will be provided by the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID). The proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management to award the contract to the lowest evaluated bidder as recommended by the Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (CAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
