- Galewela Divisional Secretary's Division consists of 59 Grama Niladhari Divisions and the total population is about 75,000.   The proposal made by Hon. W.D.J. Seneviratne, Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs, to construct a two storied building at a cost of Rs.50 million, to provide better services to the people living in the area, was approved by the Cabinet.
