- International Tropical Fruits Network is a Regional Development Organization established under the auspices of the World Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and is acting as a network to promote the production, productivity, processing, marketing, quality, consumption and international trade of tropical fruits.  The proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeyewardena, Minister of Agriculture, to obtain Membership of this Organization, was approved by the Cabinet.
