- there are about 1000 residents residing in the above Housing Scheme consisting of 147 housing units in six buildings constructed long ago.  At present these housing units pose a great danger as they are in a dilapidated condition.  Since these buildings are to undergo major repairs, action is to be taken to relocate the residents in a Housing Scheme around Sirimavo Bandaranaike Mawatha, being constructed by the Urban Development Authority.  The old buildings are to be demolished and it has been proposed to implement a suitable housing project in the said premises, after taking over of the land either by the National Housing Development Authority or by the Condominium Management Authority.   The above proposal made by Hon. Wimal Weerawansa, Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities, was approved by the Cabinet.
