Hambantota Port Development Project

- the Sri Lanka Ports Authority has prepared a Business Plan to identify business ventures that could be undertaken in the Hambantota Port Development Project.  The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Ports and Highways, to award the following business ventures to the respective bidders as recommended by the  Cabinet Appointed Negotiating Committee (CANC), and subject to stipulations, was approved by the Cabinet:

*    Advance Surfactants India Ltd. - lease of land to establish a Plant for the manufacture of Petroleum, Petrochemicals and Chemicals;

*    Laugfs Gas PLC - lease of land to establish a LPG Storage and Distribution Plant;

*    Laugfs Holdings Ltd. - lease of land to establish a Lubricants Blending Plant with a capacity of 50,000 MT per annum;

*    Energy World International Ltd. -  lease of land to establish an "elengee" LNG Hub Terminal; and

*    Rank Container Terminal Ltd. -  lease of land to establish a Petro-chemical Storage and Transshipment Facility.
