- on the joint proposal made by Hon. Chandrasiri Gajadheera, Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms and Hon. Bandula Gunawardena, Minister of Education, to provide education to young inmates of Prisons who have been sentenced for long periods, to enable them to be good citizens when leaving Prisons, Cabinet approval was granted to set up a school in Watareka Prison jointly by the Ministries of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms; and Education, with a view to developing the literacy rate and vocational skills of prison inmates.
