-  the  proposal  made  by Hon. D.M. Jayaratne, the Prime Minister, to appoint a Technical Evaluation Committee and a Cabinet Appointed Negotiating Committee, to evaluate proposals and negotiate costs to refurbish the Parliament Building and construct a new Housing Complex at Thalapathpitiya  with the required amenities, for Members of Parliament, and to obtain the services of  M/s. Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co. Ltd. which constructed the Parliament Building in 1982, as approved by the Staff Advisory Committee of  Parliament,  was approved by the Cabinet.
