- Construction of E-laboratories in Kurunegala and Puttalam Districts - the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology has decided to establish 75 E-laboratories in the Kurunegala District and 50 in the Puttalam District, parallel to the Deyata Kirula National Development Programme and Exhibition 2014.  Of these E-laboratories, 25 in the Kurunegala District and 15 in the Puttalam District will be constructed in 2013 and the remaining 85 in 2014. The proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology, to proceed with the above activities at a cost of Rs.168 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
