- Panadura town is one of the main commercial and service centres in the Kalutara District.  The Galawatta Land is located at the entrance to the Panadura Town Centre and it is proposed to develop it as a public square.  The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence and Urban Development, to relocate the families and 35 commercial units to be displaced, commence the project with Rs.25 million made available in 2013 and complete the project in 2014 with the balance funds amounting to Rs.40 million to be provided, was approved by the Cabinet.
