Proposal to set up a Mixed Development Project with Luxury Hotel with a Foreign direct investment of US$170 million by EoN Resorts Group Pvt Limited of the Republic of Maldives

EoN Resorts Group is a world class luxury resort owner and developer based in Maldives and over the past 10 years, the company has developed some of the world's most prestigious hotels in Maldives. The proposed investment in Colombo includes mainly the following:

• 45 storyed luxury hotel catering to both leisure and business tourists;

• 300 luxury hotel rooms ;

• 100 luxury residencies ;

• Convention Centre capable of hosting 2000 guests ;

The above Joint proposal made by Hon. Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development; and Hon. Lakshman Yapa Abeywardana, Minister of Investment Promotion to proceed with the project, was approved by the Cabinet.
