Cabinet of Ministers having considered the severe damages caused to life and property of the fishing community in the affected areas due to the cyclone which occurred on 2013-06-08, decided to grant relief to them in the following manner:

(i) payment of Rs.100,000/- to the next-of-kin of each deceased /disappeared  fisherman;

(ii) to procure and supply Fishing Craft and equipment in lieu of those fully damaged and not having insurance cover; and

(iii) to grant a relief payment of 50% of the cost incurred to attend to the repairs of partially damaged Fishing Craft and equipment.
