Financial Assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Implementation of the Education Sector Development Program (ESDP)

- the National Education Section Strategic Plan for General Education is to be implemented over a period of 5 years from 2013 to 2017 under the Medium Term Expenditure Framework of the government. The total estimated cost of the programme is about US$4800 million and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to contribute about 4% of the total cost. The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance and Planning, to enter into loan agreements with the ADB for a sum of US$200 million, for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
