Ratification of the Agreement entered into by SAARC countries for the Establishment of a Regional Seed Bank

- the main objective of the establishment of this Seed Bank is to address seed shortage at regional level through collective actions, promote the use of quality seeds for crop production and act as a Regional Seed Security Reserve for member countries. The proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Minister of Agriculture, for ratification of the above Agreement already entered into by SAARC countries, was approved by the Cabinet.
