Submission of Gazette Notification issued under the Imports and Exports (Control) Act, No.01 of 1969 to Parliament

- with the vesting of the assets of the Pelwatta and Sevenagala Sugar Industries in the Government, the production of sugar and sugar related products such as ethanol has increased. With the view to reducing the importation of ethanol used for the manufacture of alcohol and pharmaceuticals, the proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance and Planning, to submit the above gazette notification to Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
