Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of India for Technical Assistance in support of the 10 year (2012-2022) National Plan for a Trilingual Sri Lanka

- the Presidential Initiative for Trilingual Sri Lanka aims to make every Sri Lankan citizen knowledgeable in Sinhala, Tamil and English. The 10 year National Plan for a Trilingual Sri Lanka drawn up for the purpose sets the foundation for a national initiative to encourage the acquisition of trilingual skills and competencies by all citizens of the country. Technical assistance for the purpose is to be obtained from the government of India and the proposal by H.E. the President to sign the relevant agreement between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of India, after incorporating the amendments discussed at the Cabinet Meeting, was approved by the Cabinet.
