Construction of proposed Male and Female Hostels with 400 beds each for the University of Jaffna

- the above University currently offers a number of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses for about 6000 students and at present, there are more than 1300 outstation students in this University. The proposal made by Hon. S.B. Dissanayake, Minister of Higher Education, to construct Hostels for 400 males and 400 females at a total cost of Rs.654.4 million, phasing it out over a period of five years commencing from 2013 and subject to stipulated conditions, was approved by the Cabinet.
