Health Laboratory Services in the Country

- the proposal addresses the areas of laboratory standards, scope of laboratory, safety measures, staff welfare, quality assurance etc. and will ensure the timely availability of reliable and valid diagnostic and analytical laboratory support necessary to protect and promote the healthcare and well being of the people through the state as well as the private sector. On the above proposal made by Hon. Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Health, Cabinet approval was granted to incorporate necessary provisions in the Private Medical Institutions (Registration) Act, No.21 of 2006 so as to regulate the activities of the Health Laboratory Services in the country.
