Implementing a mechanism to protect the river bank of Mahaweli, which is facing erosion at present, with the view to ensuring the safety of Mahinda Rajapaksa ICT Centre, the Provincial Library and surrounding buildings at Gatambe

- the proposal made by Hon. Sarath Ekanayaka, Chief Minister, Central Province, to construct a 477 meter long retaining wall along Mahaweli river bank to protect the river bank close to which several key state buildings are located, at a cost of Rs.242 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
