Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2012-10-31

Rehabilitation of National Highways with Concrete Surfacing through Domestic Contractors with funds to be provided by local Banks - Rehabilitation and upgrading of Ampara-Uhana-Mahaoya Road (A027) from 13.00 to 30.00 km

- Cabinet approval has already been granted for the rehabilitation of additional roads having a total length of 328.77 km under the above programme and the section of road from 13.00 - 30.00 km on the Ampara - Uhana - Mahaoya Road is one such project. The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Ports and Highways, to award the contact of this project, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
