Proposed Investment Promotion Zone (IPZ) at Suriyawewa, Hambantota set up by Board of Investment of Sri Lanka

- a Master Plan has been prepared for the development of the Suriyawewa area as an Investment Promotion Zone (IPZ) covering approximately 230 ha., which will consist of a Multi Sports Complex, Cycling Stadium, Hockey Stadium, an International Aquatic Centre, a Media Centre, Information and Technology Park, Convention Centre, Educational Park, Hotels and Residencies etc. The proposal made by Hon. Basil Rajapaksa, Minsiter of Economic Development, to proceed with the project, was approved by the Cabinet.
