Project for the Construction of Manmunai Bridge

- the Government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has extended a grant of Japanese Yen 1206 million towards the cost of the above project. The relevant area is separated by the lagoon and accessibility is difficult between the eastern and western sections of the area. The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Ports and Highways, to implement the above project with the above Japanese grant and with the contribution of Rs.397 million by the Government of Sri Lanka, for the development of the area and for the benefit of the public, was approved by the Cabinet.
