Increasing the Monthly Allowance of the Teacher Assistants appointed to various Provincial Schools in the Island

- Cabinet having observed that the decision taken on 2010?06?16 to increase the allowance paid to Teacher Assistants from Rs.3,000/- to Rs.6,000/- has not given effect to, decided to grant approval to the proposal made by Hon. Bandula Gunawardena, Minister of Education, to increase the monthly allowance of these Teacher Assistants, numbering approximately 4700, to Rs.6,000/- per month, so that they could continue their academic activities as well, to obtain the Teacher Training Certificate or a Degree from a recognized University, which is a compulsory requirement to be confirmed in the post.
