Institutionalizing the Academy of Financial Studies (AFS) as the Training Arm of the Ministry of Finance and Planning

? action has been taken by the Ministry of Finance and Planning to renovate and refurbish the Times Building situated at Colombo Fort, after Sri Lanka Customs moved into their newly built premises, as a modern and high-tech training facility, which could be occupied by the end of August, 2012. This would provide training and skills development on specialized fields / specific subjects for the benefit of officers of the Ministry together with the staff of the 14 Departments of the General Treasury and other government institutions. The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance and Planning, to proceed with the above programme, was approved by the Cabinet.
