Proposed 400 mm DI Transmission Main from Kantale to Thampalakamam and relocation of existing Distribution System

- the National Water Supply and Drainage Board is currently implementing a project for augmenting the Greater Trincomalee Area with financial assistance from France. The project includes enhancing the Kantale Water Treatment Plant from its present capacity and constructing a supplementary transmission main from Kantale to Thampalakamam. Since the Road Development Authority is developing the A06 Main Road from Kantale to Trincomalee through 4 separate contracts, the proposal made by Hon. Dinesh Gunawardene, Minister of Water Supply and Drainage, to entrust the pipe laying work pertaining to the above, to the respective road development contractors under the supervision of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, at a total cost of Rs.1397.8 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
