Construction of an Extension to the Building of the Ministry of Higher Education

- the proposal made by Hon. S.B. Dissanayake, Minister of Higher Education, to construct an extension to the existing building of the Ministry of Higher Education, on the recommendation of the Department of National Planning, with the view to providing more accommodation to the Ministry office as well as the University Grants Commission, was approved by the Cabinet. Initial construction work of the project is to be commenced in 2012, utilizing funds allocated to the Ministry for the year 2012.
