Obtaining a loan facility for the construction of a building for the Institute of Post Graduate Studies of the Sir John Kotelawala Defence University

- M.Sc. and B.Sc. degree programmes and many Diploma and Certificate Courses are being conducted by the Institute of Postgraduate Studies of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, facilitating serving officers of the Armed Forces and the Police and Non-Commissioned officers of the Forces, to obtain higher educational qualifications. With the view to meeting the present demand and future requirements, the government has acquired a block of land in the vicinity of this University to construct a six storied building complex with all facilities, which includes lecture halls, tutorial rooms, a library, and auditorium and office rooms. The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence and Urban Development, was approved by the Cabinet.
