Annual Blood Donation Programme - 2012

- the National Blood Donation Service makes a significant contribution to the Health Services in the country in the provision of blood to needy patients in hospitals throughout the country. There are 82 branches of the Blood Bank located throughout the country with its main Centre at Narahenpita. The calendar drawn up to facilitate blood donation programmes to be carried out effectively from the year 2012 onwards, for Ministries, Departments and other State Institutions, submitted by Hon. Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Health, was approved by the Cabinet.
