Collection and sale of Liquid Milk

- issues pertaining to the matter due to the increase in the production of liquid milk were brought to the notice of the Cabinet and after discussion it was agreed that liquid milk collected by farmer organizations from dairy farmers in various parts of the country, will be purchased by MILCO Limited to be sent to its factories for the manufacture of powered milk and milk products. With the view to safeguarding the interests of dairy farmers, Cabinet of Ministers also decided to increase the import duty on imported milk powder, other than infant milk, with immediate effect.
