Annual Report of the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation & Development Corporation (SLLRDC) for the year 2010

- during the period under review, the Corporation had implemented a project for the construction of high rise low cost Housing Scheme at Salamulla for the relocation of families living in retention areas and canal reservations hindering drainage, which is the permanent solution for prevention of encroachments. The Corporation also provides low cost off shore sea sand to the construction industry due to the scarcity of sand available for construction purposes. The University of Moratuwa has recommended the use of off shore sea sand for any type of construction activity. The above annual report submitted by H.E. the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence and urban Development was approved by the Cabinet to be presented in Parliament.
