Establishing a Wild Elephant Confinement Centre in order to Minimize damages caused by Wild Elephants

- the joint proposal made by Hon. Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, Minister of Environment; and Hon. S.M. Chandrasena, Minister of Agrarian Services and Wildlife, to utilize a land area of 1582 hectares in extent belonging to the Department of Forest Conservation in Horowupothana, covering the Northern and North Western Region for this purpose, so as to minimize human-elephant conflict, was approved by the Cabinet.
