Annual Report and Final Accounts of the Sri Lanka Institute of Textile & Apparel for the year 2010

- during the year under review textile and garment exports amounted to US$3504 million, accounting for nearly 42 percent of the country's export proceeds. Sri Lanka apparel industry employees both directly and indirectly, nearly a half a million work force. The industry has been able to make a significant impact in alleviating poverty in the country in general and rural areas in particular. The above Annual Report and Final Accounts submitted by Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, Minister of Industry and Commerce, was approved by the Cabinet to be presented in Parliament.
