Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Sri Lanka in 2013 -CHOGM 2013

- as decided by the Commonwealth Heads of Government, the meeting in 2013 will be held in Sri Lanka and this will be the largest international event at the level of Heads of State to be held in Sri Lanka since 1976 when Sri Lanka hosted the 5th Summit of the Non Aligned Movement. This meeting will be attended by 54 member countries. The proposal made by Hon. (Prof.) G.L. Peiris, Minister of External Affairs, to proceed with the work pertaining to same, managing the expenditure involved within the funds provided to the Ministry for 2012, was approved by the Cabinet.
