Bilateral Agreement with the State of the United Arab Emirates on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters

- the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act No.25 of 2002 provides for the provision of assistance by Sri Lanka to foreign countries in respect of criminal matters in those countries and for obtaining similar assistance from such countries by Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, Minister of Justice, for the Government of Sri Lanka to sign a Bilateral Agreement on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters with the United Arab Emirates and ratify same, was approved by the Cabinet.
