Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2012-01-18

Completion of Construction of Buildings for Faculty of Agriculture, Ariviyal Nagar Kilinochchi, University of Jaffna

1. - the following proposals made by the Hon. S.B. Dissanayake, Minister of Higher Education, pertaining to the University of Jaffna at Kilinochchi, was approved by the Cabinet:

2. * to establish the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Engineering at Ariviyal Nagar Kilinochchi;
* to renovate and develop uncompleted buildings at Ariviyal Nagar; and
* to commence this project in 2012 and complete it within three years.

Funds required for the purpose are to be provided under the Medium Term Budgetary Frame Work.
