Construction of Two, Two Storeyed Buildings Each in the Watareka and the Mahara Prisons to keep the Detainees Currently Held in the Welikada Prison
- the proposal made by Hon. Chandrasiri Gajadeera, Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms, to construct 2 two-storeyed buildings each at the Mahara Prison and at the Watareka work camp, at a cost of Rs.96 million, for the purpose of accommodating the suspects detained currently at the Welikada Prison, in order to remove the Prison from the land where it is located at present, so as to utilize the block of land for an economically productive purpose in keeping with the development activities of the government, was approved by the Cabinet.
